Looking for people to bring SMILES with them
Smile Team Debut on TV By Nancy Schillace Smilers, get out your best race suit and shoes as we’re going on TV! Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital asked us back for their in-house tv show. And quite a show it will be as the kids get to call in with questions. So think about your various race experiences like the scariest race or the toughest turn at your favorite track to share with the kids. This will be an indoor visit so no display car is needed, just your time and smiles. The visit is Tuesday, March 6th, 2007 and we’re meeting at 1:00 PM in the lobby. The tv show is from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM and we may be able to visit with some kids in an activity area afterwards. Please contact me by February 21st if you plan to join us, as information will be sent to you regarding the visitation policy. The hospital does put the kids health first and if you’re not feeling well, then we’ll glad to have you visit at another time. Thanks and keep smiling! Election Results
On Wednesday, November 29, 2006, a very large socializer/election meeting was held at The Winking Lizard Lounge in Columbus. The election officer spent a part of the evening counting the ballots that had been cast in the voting for the 2007 Regional Executive and Board of Directors election and for the changes in the By-Laws of the Ohio Valley Region of SCCA, Inc. Because the ballot was set up so that the members could either vote on the By-Laws as a whole or they could vote on individual sections, the absolutely total count was not completed Wednesday evening. However, the number of members who voted on the By-Laws by section was not large enough to change the outcome of the election. The results as tabulated that evening: REGIONAL EXECUTIVE Tim Gordon 76 Craig Wollenslegel 64 Abstain 3 Write-in Kristen Tipple BOARD OF DIRECTORS Phil Alspach 84 Barry Baker 76 Andy Bell 58 David Brown 56 BY-LAWS Yes 116 No 4 Abstain 8 Section by Section 16 There were a total of 144 ballots counted and 6 that were returned unable to deliver.
2007 GCR Now Available on SCCA.com

(Nov. 14, 2006) - The 2007 Sports Car Club of America General Competition Rulebook (GCR) is now available for download from the SCCA website and will be available in hardcopy shortly. In addition to being outfitted with rules for the new Prepared classes and updated Formula, Touring and Improved Touring classes, the 2007 GCR has undergone an extensive review to provide competitors with clear, concise regulations in an easy-to-follow format. "The book is added to and subtracted from each year," SCCA Technical Services Manager Jeremy Thoennes said. "After years of this practice, we ended up with duplicate language or in some cases conflicting language in various sections. The reorganization involved a review of each paragraph; moving similar sections together and resolving any conflicts. The result is a book with better structure and flow, making it easier to find what you are looking for." The 2007 GCR can currently be found in PDF format on the SCCA Web site. Hard copies will be mailed to all licensed SCCA drivers shortly before the New Year.

Mid-Ohio School Competition Course
http://www.midohioschool.com The Mid-Ohio School is announcing a new format for its Competition Course. On Friday, September 8, 2006 prior to the Ohio Valley SCCA Regional, Testing and Tuning track sessions have been added within the Competition Course schedule. If you are interested in scrubbing some tires, calibrating brakes or fine tuning your competition car, this is a great opportunity. The Testing and Tuning participants will receive 4 track sessions throughout the day for a total of 2 hours and 10 minutes of track time at a price of $400. Competition Course participants will still be broken into open wheel and closed wheel groups. Each group will get 4 track sessions throughout the day with track time totaling 2 hours and 55 minutes. The price for this program has been reduced to $725 and still includes the morning track walk as well as The Mid-Ohio School instructor observation and feedback.
